That is the book I am using. It's very good, except for the misprints (which are fairly easy to spot). It's written in an informal style and focuses on the exam requirements.

It is not intended as an introduction to servlets and JSP. That is to say, although you don't need to have programmed web components, a lot of things are not taught, that are very useful in real life programs, but are outside the scope of the SCWCD. That said, if you are just preparing for the exam, this is the perfect book (IMHO). It has a lot of example exam questions and the answers are explained clearly. Use the questions as your guideline as to where your knowledge is lacking.

I used the SCJP book from the same series to prepare for the SCJP 1.4 and passed with 90% or so, I think.

On the other hand - my disclaimer - this is just my opinion. Your style of studying may be completely different from mine and therefore this book may be utterly useless to you .

JEE 5 contains Servlet API 2.5/JSP 2.1, which are only minor improvements over the previous versions. I doubt the exam would be updated for those.
