making http://machinename:8080 to simple MACHINENAME as IIS

I can access Apache Tomacat server by http://localhost:8080 or http://Machinename:8080 from browser.

While IIS7 can be directly Accessible by localhost in the browser.
pls tell, how to make apache tomcat server to work like IIS?

On a Windows machine it is as simple as editing the TOMCAT_HOME/conf/server.xml file and changing port="8080" to port="80" and restarting Tomcat. Since port 80 is the default HTTP port, it can be omitted in the URL.

Under Unix it gets more complicated, because only root can run processes that bind to ports below 1024. See this for possible solutions.
