Guys,

I cleared my SCWCD with 71%. I got 80 questions on the exam. The exam was not that difficult. I lost score on custom tags and JSTL. I never worked on those areas. Actually I did not have time to brush up any of my topics and I had a day off to my office for some other reason and in the later half of the day just went to the exam center and gave my exam.

I prepared for it some time in March/April this year but unfortunately, I was not able to give my exam at that time. I wrote this exam all with my experience along with the HFSJ book.

My advice to the experienced would be to brush up the exam topics throughly where you get to know the intricate details. To a fresher, HFSJ should be the bible.

Good luck to all who aspire to get SCWCD certified.

I'm planning for SCDJWS. But before I would like to take some time to research on the new version of the SCDJWS exam. I guess you are also preparing for the same but is it for the new version? Can you give me any insight on that?

Congrats, Jothi! It's been such a long time!!! I'll bet it feels good to finally complete it.

Sun will send the package and will not need to do anything in CertManager.

I don't know of any plans to update the SCDJWS exam. In fact, I just passed it last weekend instead of waiting because there's been nothing definite about a new version yet.

Hi Jothi,

First of all, many congratulations.

I also cleared SCWCD yesterday, and I also got 80 questions on the exam.

In final report card, it was stated that You answered 66 questions correctly out of 80 and got 95%.

I mean how is that possible ? Can you pls. tell me what is written on your report card ?

Thanks in advance,
Manan

Just divide the number of questions correct by total questions and that's your score. In your case (66/69) * 100 = 95%

Hope you are clear!

But, the total questions were 80. So, how can the percentage be count out of 69 ? In, your report card, is it written that your __ questions were correct out of 69 ? or 80 ?

I'm still not clear. Can you please tell me what is exactly written on your report card, if you don't mind ?

Regards,
Manan.

The total score gets calculated based on 69 questions. But in your score sheet that you get at the prometric center tells that you have answered 66 questions out of 80 correct. Just don't worry about that.

I just want to know why you want to go for SCDJWS? why not for SCBCD?

I know most of the people go for SCBCD after SCWCD...

Kindly inform your research that will help me...

Thanks...

If you see the developers track for Java, it is better you have all the 4 certifications SCJP, SCWCD, SCBCD, SCDJWS. I mean it is better to have knowledge on all the 4 areas as a J2EE developer. We are working on an app that uses Hibernate/Spring which together forms a good/better alternative to EJB. We use web services in that which is one main reason I want to gain much knowledge on that. I'm also at the same time preparing for SCBCD (though I have not started throughly), because we never know how the EJB 3.0 is welcomed by the community. It might take some more time to tell if EJB 3.0 is a hit and if it is a hit, then better off....I'm already SCBCD at that time, if not, then I'm happy that I know EJB 3.0 and be prepared for the next version of EJB.

Some questions on custom tags looked a bit tough for me as I did not prepare enough on them. I guess the exam should be relatively easy if you have a firm understanding of all the exam syllabus.
