Friends,

1) I have a quick question on "." EL operator. According to Head First book, the "." operator applies to both Map and the bean but according to whiz lab simulator , the "." operator applies to just bean. Which one is correct?

2) I'm little confused with regard to scope of attributes and variables in the forwarded and included page in JSP, Can you please clarify my understanding
a) include directive - all attributes and variables in all scopes are available in the included page
b) include standard action - Attributes that are in pagescope are not available in the included page, but any other scopes they are available in the included page. With regard to variables, they are not available in the included page.

c) forward standard action - same rules as include standard action

BTW, this is for SCWCD 5 certification

Thanks for your time,
Kavitha

As far as 1st question is concerned, "." (dot) operator can be applied to bean and Map. At times exam simulators can be wrong (However this is a generic statement), so its always advisable to follow some authentic book (Head First or Specs) on that topic rather than relying on the explanation given somewhere for the question.
