Took the Sun Certified Web Component Developer for J2EE 1.4 exam and passed with a 75%.

I used Head First Servlets and JSP's almost exclusively to study for it.

Tips. Hmmm...

I find that flash cards really really help me a lot on the memorization stuff. I'd take the practice tests at the end of the book and at the end of each chapter and if I found that I couldn't answer a question because of something I had forgotten then I'd immediately make a note to make a flash card for the thing I had forgotten.

Also, to make sure I knew a certain concept I'd get on the computer and actually try to do a little exercise that demonstrated the concept I was learning and try to do it without reference materials. Again, if I found I couldn't remember something then I'd make sure I had a flash card for it.

I actually hadn't done as much preparation as I would have liked for this exam and was a little concerned going in but I found the questions on the test were a little easier then the ones in the book and I thankfully done enough to get a passing score.
