Does the order of elements matters in web.xml?
for example:

within the <servlet> tag order of <servlet-name> and <servlet-class> matters or not and how about the order of top level tags like <servlet>,<error-page> etc.

I dont think within the <servlet> tag order of <servlet-name> and <servlet-class> matters.

However the order matters if you are using Filters

YES, Order Matters ...

Your web.xml has one schama & it validates against that.

Schema doesnt validates the order as far as i know.

whether the order of elements in web.xml matters or not.
