Basic -> Base64 - Encoded but not encripted
Digest -> Stronger but not SSL - Encripted
Form -> very weak, No encription and no encoded
CLIENT-CERT -> Strong, public key

Is the above info correct ?

Digest authentication is very strong - it uses cryptographic hashes for sending the password, which makes the password non-recoverable.

None of the other authentication methods provide encryption, either, so the mention of SSL in this context is a bit misleading.
