I passed SCWCD 5 with a 92. Funny thing is, the questions seemed harder to me than I was expecting, but I ended up scoring higher than I had on any mock exams. I think after doing the questions in HFSJ and the mock exams from enthuware, I was expecting the same sort of short question that, for the most part, either you know it or you don't. Instead, most of the questions were longer, and required more thought. But I guess if you know the material, and take the time to think it through, you'll do fine.

For prep, I went through HFSJ twice, read a lot of the specs to get the details straight (well worth the time), and did the mock exams from enthuware. Of course, I studied "Peabody on Patterns", and as a result scored the almost inevitable 100% on the Patterns questions. (Thanks, Marc!) Biggest single tip there was that the correct answer to any question on Patterns is always one of the "Big 6". In some cases this allowed me to eliminate three or four choices right off the bat. I also regularly read the questions here, and tried to figure out the answer before checking the replies.

One thing I missed in my prep is that I didn't take the time to memorize all the possible entries in the DD, things like resource-ref, message-destination-ref, locale-encoding-mapping-list, etc. I didn't need to know what they did; I just had to be able to recognize which ones were valid. That cost me a question or two that should have been easy.

Good luck to everyone on the exam, and thanks to everyone here for making the prep for the exam a lot easier.
