doublt in pg 384- Request scope is not request object?

What is the difference between request scope and request object?


What doies this example mean--




please help me..

requestScope is the EL implicit object and whereas request is the instance of HttpServletRequest.requestScope in EL is the implicit map of attribute and its values where as request object can do lot more functions other than this.

This example mean that :

object p will taken from request scope and getName() method will be invoked on that object.

${foo.person.name}
will not work btw. You have to use the brackets because of the dot in the identifier.
