Hello ranchers;

I know when we save tag file in jar then there should also be tld...
My query is in tld we wright code for tag......and we save it as a .tld extension..So basically what we need to create for tag file...
.tag or .tld....When only tld or when only tag used to create...

Please explain my this confusion of tag and tld properly.

Thanks &
Best Regards;

Hi,
For tag files if not included in jar, you do not need ant TLD.
A TLD, in case the tag files is included in jar, is just a description of the location of the tag file in jar used by the container.

Say if you are using a tag file without a jar, then you do not need TLD which is just a XML.

Tag file is the one which gets executed when you use the tag in your jsp.
