Hi
I have cleared SCJP 5.0 this week. I have no work experience. But I worked one couple of projects on Java SE.I don't have much knowledge of Java EE.

I have looked up on the pre-requisites for SCWCD and figured that it does not require any work experience. But I wonder if at all I study and get SCWCD certified will the SCWCD certification be relevant without any work experience?

And one more question I have is "How important is work experience for passing the SCWCD exam"?

Thanks.

Hi Srinivas,

Question: how important work experience is for the SCWCD?
Answer: Work experience is not required. However, to make a deep understanding of the subject, it's a good practice to do coding stuff along with the sudy. It helps in building good memory of the topic. Clarifying the doubt if any and gives work experince of different kind

Quetion: relevance of SCWCD without work experience?
Answer: Think of it as a opprtunity building block for yourself. As someone has said on some other thread "certification doesn't buys you a job, but if two candidates are fit for a job, a certified dude will get an extra edge on the other one." Getting certified by Sun is an achievement and you can write it on your RESUME in bold

In general, an exam judges your level of knowledge of concepts.
Whereas experience is the level of your implementation of the actual concepts.

When you are certified, others get the impression that you know the concept.
Its implementation will take or make your experience.

Hope this helps
