Hi All..

I am happy to share the news that i have cleared SCWCD .I would like to thank all ranchers for bringing up interesting question and sharing their understanding on the concepts..

here is what i did

Preparation time 35 days 3hours a day(week day) 6hours(weekend)
1.Read HFSJ book 3 times..
2.Read Frederic Esnault,Mikalai Zaikan,Marc Peabody notes..Special thanks to Mailaai,Marc and Frederic for such a winderful notes
3.Skimmed through the jsp2.0,jstl,servlet specs..
4.daily went through the java ranch forum though did not actively participate but was a silent listener..

Mock exams :
Took hte below exams
1.JDiscuss exam--Score consistently 75%
2.Marcus-90%,90%
3.HFSJ Mock-63%

My view to others who are taking the exam..(on what i did)

1.After reading each chapter in the HFSJ it would help if we go through the spec and then take the mock exam for the chapter(This helped me get additional info about the topic w.r.t specification)

2.Took notes on things that are hard to remember.

3.Once i read through the full book i went through additional note by Fedric,Marc,Mailakai.

4.Took mock exams and made a note of all the mistakes and the patterns wher i feel iam weak and put in more effort in understaning the concepts..

Finally to my opinion i felt Marcus Quiz was similar in propotion with the exam..taking them would give us a picture of where we stand ..

Vote of Thanks:

1.Firstly To the Authors of HFSJ for giving such a splendid book.i would call it a virtual class roomm even..was so interesting to read and understand the concepts..feel previlaged to read such books,,thanks authors..

2.To all the rancher in the forum ,for bringing up some interesting tricky question and their concepts behind it..Thanks guys..

3.TO Marc,Feric and Malakai and Jothi Shanker for a wonderful revision notes.

4.Rancher who share their score and tips on what they did to pass.It was really movtivating to see people score such good marks ..very inspiring

5,Last but not least thank to christophe .

Happy that i have understood the concept well more than my score..

Thanks all...

Bala'J'i

the second edition is best book in the market.

Perhaps you could write a comparison between the books to help future readers decide what to purchase, then post it on JavaRanch? From what you say you've clearly read all the books available so I'm sure your review would be widely appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

hi friend

Please tell me can i take the same voucher for SCWCD 5.0 which i had taken for SCJP5.0???
Please help me out of this problem.
ID for SCJP5.0 is 310-055 & for SCWCD5.0 is 310-081.
that means i can use the same voucher for SCWCD5.0(310-XXX) which i had taken for SCJP5.0(310-XXX). because i have heared that same voucher is required for all 310-XXX series exam

I recommended him the HFSJ SCWCD 5 because of the new set of mock exams
and fun way of reading.

That was my personal opinion Charles , sorry I made you angry.
I did not read the latest book of yours but sample chapters of old one.
I have no intension to degrade your book, friend ,I just said that casually.
I am sorry brother.

best regards,
omi

Hi rajneesh saroj
All vochers will be valid for all Sun Exams..
There is no different vocher for different exam.

You can write SCWCD with your vocher, Check with your nearest promatic center.

Hi sudheer kiran ,

You can get all short notes , mock exams, much more info about SCWCd @ http://faq.javaranch.com/java/ScwcdLinks
