I have some small doubt on ELIgnored behavior..

EL are enabled by default...

2 ways are there to set the EL settings DD and page directive.

I have read that always page directive wins ....

here i have some doubt ... suppose

<%@ page isELIgnored="true" %> means that particular JSP will not evaluate the EL expressions right.... irrespective the settings in DD right ....

but at HF i have seen that, in DD also we need to set
<el-ignored> true </el-ignored> ....... then only that JSP will ignore EL

Please clear my doubt here ...

Thanks
Praveen

No. As you said first, the page directive setting will overwrite any DD setting.

Yes, I guess that was a typo in HF book.

In an answer, they have said as you pointed, but in the text the book says directive overwrite the DD setting.
