Dear Partners:

I am confused about being able to take SWCD exam because a mismatch between my Sun Certification progress and the exam being offered.

This is the issue:

On 2007, I cleared SCJP by passing the test (310-055) : Sun Certified Programmer for the Java 2 Platform, Standard Edition 5.0.

According to the Sun Certified Databases certification progress, Im enrolled on the test: (310-080) Sun Certified Web Component Developer for the Java 2EE Platform.

The only test available at Prometric is the test (310-083) : Sun Certified Web Component Developer for the JavaPlatform, Enterprise Edition 5.

According to the Sun Web Site, the only pre requisite for the test 310-083 is any version of SCJP.

If somebody has passed though the same issue or knows about it, please advice.

Thank you.

Roger.

I believe you can near enough ignore the "enrolled" status.

Provided you haven't yet purchased you exam voucher you should just be able to simply buy a voucher for the latest version of the appropriate exam.

For example I took the 310-083 off the back of a SCJP v1.2 exam and it didn't cause me any problems - cert manager just sorted itself out.

If however you already have a voucher for the older version of the exam, you will need to get in touch with Sun, and see if they are willing to swap it over!

HTH - Rufus.
