Hi Varun,

We develop enterprise applications in order to fulfill some real world requirement. This could be to solve a complex mathematical expression , or to model a real business logic in an enterprise. for an example a Paper selling company might have different paper types , different paper sizes , different prices , different material supplier etc. When we take the whole business these things relate to each other in different ways. And the company might sell small papers at a different price , and company might offer tenders to buy material based on different consideration etc.All these things explain some kind of a process which we could most likely call as a business process. If there is another company which also is in the paper selling industry would probably have a very different setting as well as very different way of defining their business process or logic. So when we are developing an enterprise application the developer / software architect would have to define this business from application development point of view. That would create a some level of abstraction of the real world business and would realize the business logic too to some extent. These business logic would end up as business services in the enterprise system which is under development. And even during the development new business services could be realized as well.

In the case of a mathematical expression there is logic , but there is no business logic

Hope this helps a bit

Regards,
Ranil

What you mean to say is that bussiness service is nothing but the model (as per MVC )which we use to perform operation on the data fetched from the database and which passes the result to the controller.

Am i right or am i wrong please let me know.

A business service can exist without a relational database or a controller.

A good way to learn about "business services" is to identify them in applications that you have experience with.

Varun, if you could describe any application that you have worked with in detail. We could help you identify what the "business services" were.
