For a daily busy professional, having let's say about 1 hour a day to spend on this, how long would it take to become a SCJA?
Based on your experience how long to get SCJP and SMAD?

Thanks

Diego

It really depends on your experience and ability to learn.

Hi Diego,

I do believe in professional certifications, but the main goal should be to absorb as much knowledge as you can.

Take your time, there are plenty of great books out there (I love the Head First series).

I studied for the SCJP 1.4 for a couple of months for a few hours a day, I wasn't new to Java, but I studied not only to pass the exam but also to become a better programmer...and this helps at work! :-)

I am interested in the SCJA to have a more global knowledge of the Java world...

Good luck!
Gio :-)

For an average java knowledge person it might take 3 to 4 months time. I have also seen people completing in 1 month at the rate of 5hrs/day. So finnaly its upto you how fast you absorb the topics.
