Hi guys, i am busy preparing for the SCJA exam, i have both of Cameron's books, the study guide and the questions.
On the Sun site they recommend taking Fundamentals of the Java Programming Language (WJB-110A) has anyone done this course? Is it worth the rather high price? If i dont take this course, will Cameron's books and the Sun practice exam be enough to pass?

Any advice is appreciated.

You might want to back track through the message board to find some feedback on the Sun course. It probably wouldn't be appropriate for me to comment on another's resource, especially if I'm reiterating what has already been said about it.

My students have had great success with the two exam guides, and if you understand the material, you are well on your way to passing the exam. The only thing you can't get from reading a book is hands on experience writing Java code. To really earn your certification, you also need some time hacking out some Java code as well. Supplement your reading and test taking with a good dose of Java programming and you'll assuredly do well.

Kindest regards,

If you still doubt about the exam, consider buying some basic java book like "Head First Java", "Java For Dummies", "Sams Teach Yourself Java in 21 Days". Although the books covered materials that doesn't covered in SCJA exam, you'll still get the experience of writing code and do the book exercises (if any). After all, you already have the best books.

Good luck and don't forget to put your name in SCJA wall of fame in http://faq.javaranch.com/java/ScjaWallOfFame
