Hi all,
I am done with the assignment and about to submit it. I had a few
questions about preparing the final submission. I would appreciate
comments from members (those have have passed and also those who are
appearing for the exam)
1) To run the programs, I have batch files that take parameters.
for e.g. startserver (Unix variants) and startserver.bat(Windows).
java -Djava.security.policy=policy
-Djava.rmi.server.codebase=classes/
-classpath $CLASSPATH:classes
MyServer $*
java -Djava.security.policy=policy
-Djava.rmi.server.codebase=classes/
-classpath %CLASSPATH%;classes
MyServer %1 %2 %3 ...
It works fine on UNix and Windows where the users just have to type
runserver at the prompt. Also, saves the user from extra stuff that
he need not care about.
Do you think this is a good idea?
Or should I just revert to the old command line format of typing all
the stuff above at the prompt?
What is the approach that you guys have used?
Thanks in advance.
Ashwin.

i think your method should be fine. i have done mine as a command line fully but having batch file does not hurt.
but i think we should not require editing the batch file as the instructions strictly say the final package should not require any editing by the end user.
