What is MAGIC in FBN? Do I have to hardcode it or Should I ask user to enter it in my GUI? Please help me.

Check,
Magic is a special value which is used to detect if the database has been corrupted by some external entitiy. If the magic value is not found in the database value, then the Data class assumes that the data has been corrupted. You should not have anything to do with the Magic value, as the Data class takes care of that for you. Also it should not be entered from the GUI or config file etc.

I understood what you said by observing the data file. But I am still in confusion. I am creating the conversion tool according to the specifications given in Data class's second constructor. Data conversion tool is an independent tool, which can convert ascii file to binary file.Am I missing something? How can it take care of magic if the converted binary file is called from Data class's first constructor?

Even though the Data conversion tool is independent, it will need to use features provided by the Data class for converting a data file to a binary file.
