Hi I just passed thhe jcsp.
I just studied for 6 weeks and took the exam and got 88%.
I did not study jdbc or rmi because it wasn't on the exam.
That's what I'll be doing when I get some time.
At this point I'm considering the scjd as an imposibility.
I just wanted to have someone bring some light on it.
My understanding of the test is that you need
years of java experience (which I have none) and
knowlege of non-java concepts like corba or something.
You need to be able to build a project from the groud up.
So I figured wait till you get a java job and after you've done
a couple of projects then may be in a year start studying
for the exam.
Can someone shine some light on this test.
I need a step by step direction on how to accomplish this.
I made a lot of mistakes and I wish I had done a lot of thing differently while studying for scjp exam. I don't want to make the same mistake with this exam. So please go into tons of details not just generic statement like work hard or practice lots.
Thanks a lot for your help
Kourosh

Hi Kourosh,
Two months back I have downloaded the assignment and still working on it. I won't say it is easy but at the same time it is not impossible. You don't need to work in java. Currently I don't have java job and also many people I heard that just reading related to assignment you can finish the project. You need to design a client server technology using either RMI or through sockets. If you are really interested in java and planning to take developers exam don't need to wait. You can pay the amount of _____ then you will get your assignment. By reading the requirement of your assignment you will get some idea about what is going on in this thread and also from other egroups. Database is a text file. Don't need to know JDBC.

All the best.

Wow thanks a lot
So I can actualy get the exam and then learn and work through the tidbits that I am not clear on slowly on my own time. You're right that sound great. Now I'm understanding the difference
beween this exam and the scjd. I don't have to memorize anything
or rush throw it just take it on my spare time. Now I'm thinking this is super easy and very possible. And I don't have to jdbc. Super. Thanks a lot.
P.S.
What is the test number that I need?
I heard there are different version of this developers exam that are multi vender(ex. like one with oracle). I just know java
I don't want to accidently get the wrong exam.
I'll look at suns sight and try to figure it out.
But if there is anything I should look out for or
if I have control over which exam I get and certian ones
are easier then let me know.
Thanks
