Hi All,
If I implement lock and unlock and then use the sequence lock, read, modify and unlock on my client, modify does not need to remain synchronised. If modify remains synchronised then if client A is modifying rec 5(say) no other client can modify any other rec at the same time. Moreover, no other client can do a read or write at the same time because they are also synchronised.
Am I thinking along the right lines ? Your comments are appreciated.
How have the certified developers approached this issue ?
Thanks
Deb

The lock should a write lock only, meaning that if a client lock the record for modification, other clients should be able to read them.
