Hi Sandra, I use Kawa, Its good and is easy to use. But till now, I have'nt tried it for javadoc or RMI I write my code in Kawa, compile it on a DOS prompt. Anyway finally you've to do it this way when you give it to the examiner. Bye, Ravi.
Thanks Benjamn Amodio, but are you talking about kawa 5.0, cause I start to use the version 3.0 and it is a lot better in 5.0. Did you pass the SCJD yet? How long did you take you to complete the assignment. Thanks
I used Kawa for javadoc and also for compiling sometimes besodes JDK for compiling. I use Enterprise Edition for J2EE stuff. It is quite good in general. Ruilin
Thanks ruilin yang, Are you already a SCJD? Am I allow to use kawa's javadoc for the assignment? Could you tell me how long did you take to finish the assignment, and if you have a chance to do it again, what would you do differently in order to complete the assignment in less time, thanks.
Hi.... I've also been using Kawa since its prior versions (v3.5 up), and I found it to be an excellent project management IDE, lacking support only for GUI development. Overall, it was a major IDE, really useful for Java coding. I still think Codeguide is much, much better than Kawa, easier to integrate with other tools (and I indeed find Kawa to be good stuff!!!). I'm still working on my SJCD (I've finished coding, but I've currently stopped development in order to study for the Sun Web Component Developer Certification). I think I'll submit the whole bunch by July.... Benjamn
Sandra, I finished my SCJD coding part a few weeks ago, which took me about two weeks (if I did it continuously). I stopped doing the document part for the moment due to the priority of the projects of my work. I expecting to finish the whole SCJD projects in June some time (after the Web DevCon conference in Denver, Colorado). Certainly, you can use Kawa to produce javadoc. The results are no difference from JDK since Kawa also uses the javadoc engine. So far I feel the way I did the coding of the project is most efficient for me. I did the GUI first, then enhanced the Data class, connected the system for local operation mode, finaly implemented RMI for the remote mode. I used VisualCafe for GUI development and then cleaned the residual. Doing the GUI took me very little time. Hope help Ruilin
Hi ruilin yang, I just want to thanks for your advice. I know you will get a very good score on the exam. I don't think I can finish the assignment until late July or early August. My boss want me to finishing up the Oracle DBA exams, I am half way done, I will be very happy by the end of this year, cause finally I'll have time to go for a vacation. :-)
Thanks, Benjam? Amodio. I am glad to know many nice people here. Good luck on the SCJWD, I don't think I will go for it, I want to get this done and go for the SCJA. God, I really need a vacation. :-), So are you guys working as a Java developer? or Web Developer? I am a DBA, but use a lot Java and XML. Anyway, good luck to you all.
I am going to attend the conference in Denver on June 12-15. I hope see some of you there to have a good communication about our project. Here is the inf about the meeting. I hope you will attend the meeting so we can meet there. Sandra, Good luck for your DBA Exam http://www.webdevcon.com Best regards, Ruilin
