Hi, im thinking about uploading...
but i have used VI in linux rh6.1 to edit all my files....if i then open the same files in win98, say in notepad, the file is full if little black squares.....is this ok?, what if the chap wants to read my readme.txt or source in windows..i would be up the creek without a paddle??

The "problem" is that Unix uses just LF (0x0A) as a line terminator, while DOS/Windows uses CR/LF (0x0D,0x0A). Apart from braindead Notepad, every editor I know is happy to deal with it. You should be fine.
