I see that folks are packaging client and db jars. Is this necessary? Can I not simply package the entire solution in one jar and use that on both client and server? Maybe not the most efficient solution in terms of space but simple.

A few people decided to use single jar files. Its not a big deal, but 58 points fall under the "General Considerations" category, so why take a risk?
