I have looked far and wide and tried just about everything three times.
My problem lies with my RMI Server and this little bit of code
**********************
Naming.rebind("/RMIFDA", remoteFlightDatabase);
**********************
This is what I'm doing
1) I start the rmiregistry
2) I start my server specifying hostname, codebase, and security policy
3) Finally, I get the following error message
**********************
java.rmi.ConnectException: Connection refused to host: eXXXX_three; nested exception is:
java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused: no further information
**********************
Any ideas??? Please...
My spider sense is telling me I have a problem with using DHCP. Some one mentioned something about changing an NT file located in the etc/ dir. I tried that but wasn't quite sure what I was doing.
Please help...

The Java Ranch has thousands of visitors every week, many with surprisingly similar names. To avoid confusion we have a naming convention, described at http://www.javaranch.com/name.jsp . We require names to have at least two words, separated by a space, and strongly recommend that you use your full real name. Please log in with a new name which meets the requirements.
Thanks.

After extensive ***** around with my system. I have rmi working but I can't connect to the Internet (Yes, I have multiple machines). And to make matters worse I now can't connect to my DHCP Server. Very weird!!!
What a nightmare

If you're using a proxy you may need to set http.proxyHost and http.proxyPort.

Perhaps I should have been more specific. My network consists of a cable modem a Dlink Router (which has a DHCP Server built-in) and two machines. The machine I was developing on now can't connect to the Internet but it can use RMI. I'm thinking this is do to a config issue outside the scope of this discussion forum. Or I may be wrong. Someone inlighten me please.
Thanks

Problem solved. Not related to Java...I previously installed a trialware version of Zone Alarm Pro. I uninstalled it and I guess it had some old reg entries and services still active. Anyways, I believe it was blocking various ports on my machine.
Everything seems to be working a o k now rmi works and my Internet connection is back.
Now back to the assignment. I currently have the gui working for the local and remote sessions. I plan on integrating the adapter pattern next for this and then on to the lock/unlock mechanism after turkey dinner this weekend.
