There has been a lot of talk about Modifying/Extension and RMI/Sockets.
What other major design topics should be discussed in the design document?

Thanks

Guys , I can come up with a number of design choices seemeignly more important, like Enforcing Data API, Search, ClientData and ConnectionFactory, Making reservation and Optimistic locking model...etc.
Do I need all that?

No I think you include what they ask, and maybe some more, if you feel like it, and you think it would help your submission, and to defend some choices you might think the reviewers might question.
