Hi,
I've made use of JQ+ to pass my SCJP and I'm now starting to do my SCJD.
As I find JQ+ a good tool for the SCJP test, I'd like to know has anyone purchase JDev+ and how useful is it?
I'd say this is the first time I'm doing a project of some quality. Thus, I'd like to pick up the correct skills for a project development e.g. proper analysis and design, documentation, coding, version control, deployment etc.
I'd like to know if the guidance from JDev+ is of professional quality,
i.e. from the point of a working developer, and not just to for the sake of passing the certification.
Looking forward to your advice.
Cheers.

not worth buying. the source code looks dirty. they pretend they're doing a similiar project, but you can find sun's assignment requirements here and there in the code.

I have no doubt that it's a good project. Like you, I used their sample test software for the SCJP and it was great. So, I can't believe this will be any different.
HOWEVER.
I think you should not buy it immediately. Try to struggle through this on your own, reading the docs, and asking people on this news group. You will learn a lot. It will do more for your career in the long run, than just getting the SCJD certificate.
Give yourself two or three months of solid effort. If by that time you are struggling, then purchase it. However, I think that the program is straight forward enough that you shouldn't have too many problems.
Just my 2 cents.
