Object Serialization or RMI?

What should I use?
RMI or Object Serialization over a single network socket???
What's the best choice and WHY?
There is any CABALISTICALLY SPECIAL reason to use RMI, and not Objetc Serialization?

I would say RMI because it gives you more option for the future implementations, so a lots of house job is not on you.
