Data Client requirement

Hi,
I've some doubt about the data client's requirement.
"To connect with your server, you should create a client program. This implementation should include a class that implements the same public methods as the suncertify.db.Data class, although it will need different constructors to allow it to support the network configuration"
In this case, should the client be able to call all the public method of Data class either through an interace or directly?
I find this not a good way of doing it as the client can do whatever he wants to.
I was thinking if it is possible for me to construct a class that provide basic function that a Client requires and the class will have same public methods as the suncertify.db.Data class.
Then, the client will use the interface that this new class implements to work on the results.
Is it compulsory that I must stick to the requirement of the assignment?
Or have I misunderstood it?
Thanks for any advice.
Cheers.

Stick to the requirements. One purpose of them is to deliberately put you a situation that is not ideal. The question then is, how will you handle it.
There are no "wrong" answers to dealing with awkward requirements -- other than solutions that don't work -- but the exam is designed to force trade-offs on the candidate, so they must then identify the strengths and weaknesses of their solutions.
