After getting SCJP, or can I take the SCJA route. Maybe I'm getting ahead of myself, but I'm trying to determine the best Certification route. I'm interested in playing an Architect role, but don't want to get so far into it that I don't know how to Develop/Program.
And would it be useful to get the SCWCD also?
What paths have/are other's here taken?

My answer is yes.
I am going to take all of them.
I am SCJP and SCJD. Now going for SCJWD, even though I do no programming with the web. After that I will go for the Architect.

Hey, any certification you can get may open a door of opportunity down the road that may otherwise be closed. Why not do them all?
I personally did SCP, SCWCD, then SCD(results of test soon... I hope) because I had some significant servlet/JSP experience. I will go after SCEA soon, not because it's anything I particularly want to do but because it looks good on a resume, will give great personal satisfaction, and - like I said - may give me an opportunity sometime that I wouldn't have had otherwise.

I'm pretty sure that SCJD is a pre-req for
SCJA.
SCJP->SCJD->SCJA i believe is their planned
path.

Yah, your right I just re-checked certmanager
and there are zero pre-req's for SCJA. Which
I find a tad surprising.
