I just handed my assignment in. I added a server shutdown gui at the list minute. The reason I added it was because one of the threads here at Javaranch indicated that the only reason that lock would be called with -1 (lock all records) is when the server is being shutdown. This made a lot of sense. If you shutdown the server using the ctrl-c way it allows the database to end up in an inconsistent state. Adding a small gui for the server is really easy to add. I think it will only help your final score.

hi
I am presently implementing a server GUI class, I did not give it much thought at the design stage It includes a information panel - to trace details of normal process. I also want to use it to test LockingManager.
To maintain as low a coupling with LockingManager as possible yet access its instance variables - any ideas.
thanks tom
