java.lang.NullPointerException
at sun.rmi.transport.StreamRemoteCall.exceptionReceivedFromServer(StreamRemoteCall.java:2
at sun.rmi.transport.StreamRemoteCall.executeCall(StreamRemoteCall.java:220)
at sun.rmi.server.UnicastRef.invoke(UnicastRef.java:122)
I follow that the above is a null pointer exception but can someone please let me know as to what it means and when it happens?

In my case, there was an exception occuring at the IMPL which I was not catching. Look at the remote method that is causing the problem.

Yes, please share what the problem was - I'm having the same thing happen. I can connect once with a client, but once I kill the client I have to restart the server to connect again.
Thanks,
Jeff

My stupid fault. Check any possible NullPointerException occurred in the server implementation.
As for me, I opened a record after closed the data, and I got a NullPointerException in my client side.
