When an exception is caught on RMI server side...

Hi everyone,
When an exception is caught on RMI server side, what do you think it's a proper way to deal with? Disposal the exception right after catching it? or, just throw it (maybe add some extra information)to let RMI client to handle.
I prefer the latter one, but have not confidence in that.
Could you share your ideas with me?

If the error is something the client should know about, it should throw it up to the client. If it is something about the server, meaning there probably won't be any clients connected to it at the time, like at startup, then it should be handled by the server.
