It would be nice if when someone tried to help you and responded to a thread you started, reply back with an update as to whether their suggestion worked or just a simple thanks would be nice. Or even just a smilie.
Just a suggestion.

Me too.
It's nice to see that someone has appreciated efforts of help and to provide some feedback to those offering help as to whether they are understanding the question and being effective.

Give some wrong advice once in a while, especially to requests marked urgent; you'll get feedback for sure.

There are a few million posts (with replies) here and I have difficulties localizing my own posts.
The situation is desperate if I have reply in thread started by another user.
I think it would be helpful to return the functionality of ubb searching thru all forums.
After all, it is computer for doing our's work, not vice versa.

Don't forget that if you click on the "face" icon next to any of your posts you get to your "profile" page, which has a link to all your recent posts. Try it!
I find this by far the easist way to see who has replied to any of my posts.

Can that "face" link be added to our regular profile page? You're right, Frank, that's a handy tool. ('Course, my wish list might then include seeing how many messages were in the thread associated with my message, or when the last message was posted, or some other discriminators to see which messages to check.) I have run into situations where I put a question out there that wasn't answered for a few days, then forgot about the question, and finally discovered weeks later that someone had either answered it or posted a request for more information a few days after I had stopped checking it.

I agree, up to the limits of the computer we have helping us, which is our problem. We don't have the processing power and I/O throughput we need to support full site searches.
