Hello Friends !
I am a SCJP2 and I was planning to go for the Developers certification.
I have worked on the J2ee platform, coded EJBs and Servlets and JSPs also.
I alkso worked on xml for 3-4 months and have afair knowledge of it.
Which certification will help me the most ? Developers or the XML certificstion ?
ANyone can help ?
Thank you in advance..

If you try SCJD, you can learn about distributed computing using RMI, JFC development including Swing.
I am not sure about the XML certification you are talking about.

Leena, with your knowledge, and a short period of time you can pass the Sun Certified Web Component Developer exam. Since that is a lot of your background, I would do that first, then go for the XML, that isn't too hard either, then come back and do the SCJD, as stated above, it will show you some things you haven't dealt with yet, and is good to learn.

I don't know about other places, but if I was evaluating your CV or conducting your technical interview I would definitely be more impressed by a developers than by an XML certification, even though we don't tend to do Swing work.
Why? Well, it is a mistake to think that the Developer certification is about Swing, RMI, or any other of the technologies used. It is about your competence as a developer and your skills in the development process (requirements capture, analysis, design, coding and documentation). These skills are extremely valuable and don't have a lot to do with the technologies or even language you happen to be using.

I agreed upon what you wrote Peter.
I am going to UK for 6 months alonwith my husband. If nothing clicks on job front I have decided to go for both the certifications at the same time. (xml and developers)
Will it be a good idea ? I will not have a pc there. and will have to study. It was possible a bit for the programmer certification. but will I be able to do it without pc for the developers cetification ? I can check sites from the cafe but not coding I think !! :-(
Thanks in advance ! and sorry for disappearing for a week ..
Greetings..
