Hi all, I am at my wits end with Sun.
I have read and re-read their instructions on submission jar file naming:
---------------------------------------------
The name of your submission archive file MUST be derived from your Testing ID, as shown above. Your Testing ID is your 9-digit Social Security Number (U.S. only), or it might be another alphanumeric combination, e.g. sp1234567 (any country). Your archive filename MUST BE scjda-AAAAAAAAA.ZZZ, where AAAAAAAAA is your Testing ID, and ZZZ is the appropriate filename extension for your archive type (zip, tar, or jar).
If you have prepared your archive, please press the 'Continue' button.
-------------------------------------------------
This is copied from the upload page with the instructions on it...
I an in USA, and I have a prometric testing ID...which is not my SSN...
"...The name of your submission archive file MUST be derived from your Testing ID, as shown above. Your Testing ID is your 9-digit Social Security Number (U.S. only), "
What is shown above on that page is my Prometric ID...not my SSN and as I have already said the two are not the same.
Can those who have already *successfully* submitted and gotten acknowledgement from SUN that the submission was received please tell me which I am to use:
1) Prometric testing ID
2) SSN
They seem to deliberately confuse the two...

Ummmm....after I thought about it some more I think maybe the Prometric Testing ID at one time may have been SSN for USA...and what they are trying to say is that you should use your Testing ID...
The fact that it may or may not be **similiar** is inconsequential...they really should remove that part and just say in very plain words...
the submission jar name has the form:
scjda-"9-char prometric testing ID".jar
Anyway, I hope that is what they mean because I named it that.
-good luck to all...I will take test on Friday of this week...
-cheers,
Richard

My Testing ID is my SSN. So I am wondering what you think your testing ID is?
It is not the voucher number, and if you are an American Citizen, or have a SSN, then it will be your SSN.

Mark,
On the web page in question, (one of those that comes up at the upload button at galton) the Testing ID reference on the page was to my prometric ID...this is what is displayed...if you read the instructions, they provide, they also refer to prometric ID but not directly...they call it the sp number.
In a conversation with SUN the other day, I am told that you may use either your SSN or your Testing ID which they said is the spXXXXXXX number.
The reason for allowing both is two-fold:
1) some people are uncomfortable giving out SSN\
2) non-USA do not have SSN
Just out of curiousity, where does it say your testing Id is your SSN...I can find nothing that clearly states this.
cheers,
Richard

Mark...
when I log into galton (my certification), I use my spXXXXXXX (prometric number)...when the Sun page about how to name the jar comes up it states that I should name jar testing id, which is my sssn...but, the statement says the testing id above ... and that shows my spxxxxxxx number...I hope you can appreciate the confusion with what the instructions state an the data shown...also, everything I have done with SUN has been under spxxxxxxx number...not SSN, so maybe they have changed since you took the developer test...
dunno...
I'll keep you posted if there is a problem with marrying up my submission with my exam or other probems like that.

Cool. Good Luck Richard, but I am sure you will do well.
My Promteric ID, Testing ID, and SSN are all the same. So it was easy for me, there was no other number to get confused on.
