Hi,
In order to bind my server to a RMI Registry I'm using LocateRegistry.createRegistry(1099) to create and export a Registry on the localhost.
Will this cause a problem? Will the examiner expect to be able to create a Registry on a remote server as well as the local server?
Has anyone else used this approach and if so were you penalised for it?
I am going to specify the following parameters to start my server:
1) rmi port number
2) datafile name
Do these look ok? Is there anything I've missed?
Can I presume that the data file name will be a path to the datafile to use?
Cheers,
Steve

No it won't cause a problem. A lot of us did the same thing and no penalty
1 and 2 look ok. If you tell the assessor that they must put in the path to the db.db file then it will have the path. As long as you state this clearly in your readme.txt. They shouldn't have to figure things out.
Good Luck

Hi,
Thanks Mark. I'll specify it in the text file.
Cheers,
Steve
