I find some people use command line "rmiregistry" while others prefer use createRegistry() to create the registry object on the fly.
My initial design used the commandline and afterwords i switched it to the createRegistry() method therefore the application could run even at the absence of the rmiregistry utility. I have little knowledge in the field and i'm afraid of neglecting something.
Could someone give some analyse here for the pros and cons of the 2 approaches? especially the cons of using the createRegistry() method.
Thanks
James

Only con I can think of is that it is in the code, and if you change it you have to recompile. pro, is that you don't have the beautiful CTRL-C to shutdown.
