Hi, All,
Are we supposed to allow the users to run the application on a port other than the default 1099 (if use RMI)? If yes, we have to tell them how to start the rmiregistry, server and client respectively in document? This will be error-prone if the user happen to get some step wrong. Is there any good suggestion on this?
Thanks!
Cathy

There's no requirement to use other than the default port, and generally there's no good reaso too, either. Personally, I provided a means of specifying the port, but I doubt I'd lose any points if I hadn't.
Like a lot of things related to the project (e.g., downloadable stub code), do it if you have the interest & time, but... also avoid making the testing of your submission difficult or confusing for the examiner!.. which does tend to speak in favor of simplicity.

Thanks, Thomas!
I can not agree with you more. I just want to make sure I will not lose point for not allowing them to use other ports.
Thanks!
