Hi guys,
we are s'posed to provide a user manual which should explain how to go about doing things the way things should be done to set up and to run and to acess various func provided by the client or the server ..
can we make a point that at the present moment s'port is meant for only win platforms ??
cos i dun know a thing abut linux or unix commands to set path or to do things ...
this is rasonable right ?? cos we build applications and we make a note of what os was used and what jdk and how to configure them in the deployment machine which is usually the same os as the devlopment was done ..
any ideas to help me proceed with confidence
cheers,
parthi.

Actually since I made a menu on the GUI that had Help which would show a JFrame with a "Browser" inside a JScrollPane, then I can display the html user help in both Win and UNIX.

may be i didnt convey my questions properly
yeah i provide a way to acces those htmls ..
in our how to's we will tell them how to set up and configure where to put what .. and all those sort of things ..
this differs in the unix box and in windows .. i dun know how to guide them to install the jre in unix box .. but in windows i can take them step by step ..
this is what i want to know do i have go in this detail or do i say un jar the file with this command ..
go to the dir where you extracted it .. and there will be 2 files server.jar and client jar ..
to run the server.jar
type javaw -jar server.jar ... and all the time i shuld assume tht he is in windows and in dos prompt .. .. this is win specific .. do i have to do the same thing for unix too ??

You only have to give the execution instructions on the platform that you developed the assignment. Whatever platform you wrote you used on your Readme.txt file.
