any idea why this could be happening?

I checked the permissions on db.db and its got all kind of permissions. Request is my Server side class that basically initializes the security manager and then does the rebind. there are method calls in this class that in-turn call methods of the data class.

java.security.AccessControlException: access denied (java.io.FilePermission db.d
b write)

When I mean db.db is got all kind of permissions, I mean that its got read-write permissions.

Just remove the Security Manager and policy files. You don't need them

I still get the same exception. I need to give it one more try. But, I wont be able to do it for some time now, at least 2-3 weeks.
I am getting married next week and would not be able to concentrate on the assignment. But I shall come back with questions when I try it.Thank you so much for your help...
But I shall be back soon.
bye and thanks
