Is a security manager required on either the client or the server or both? There seems to be no requirement in the specs.

There is no requirement, and since we can'y use dynamic downlaoding and the jars will each have copies of the stubs, then I would even suggest not using SecurityManager and Policy files at all.

Mark is right, there is no requirement, but it won't hurt either - if you do it right.

I included one because I just wanted to learn about doing it - I got no deductions because of it.
