Hi,
I'd like to use (as many of us do) comboboxes for the origin and destination airports.
But this raises an issue:
How often do we have to update the list of possible origins and destinations?
As this is an expensive (possibly remote) action which involves to fetch all flights in the database I think this should be done verry seldom.
Further this data should change very seldom too so maybe it's ok to just get the data one time on connection to the database and then cache it in the client.
What are your thoughts?
Cheers, Bernhard

That is what I did.

In my program, GUI fetch all flights from database every time the GUI is set up. But I image this only happen once in a while, as the GUI is supposed to stay open all the time.

My plan is whenever a new flight is added to database, the whole application should be shut down. So when the program begins running again, the combobox get updated. And yes, this shouldn't happen very often.

Or you can have a thread running in background, to updata objects in your combo boxes.

Although I don't recommnad it, not need it by the requirement.
