probably a dumb question but here goes anyway:
say you were given a previously written, functional piece of code(a class) that you were to enhance. Do you think that modifying the class directly would ensue disrespect to the original author or even be considered plagiarism in a way???

I don't think you would call it plaquerism, but IMHO you should give proper credit to the orignal author and then indicate that you have improved upon the class and what you did etc.

thanks for your thoughts... Yes, it is relevant to the programming assignment; I didn't want to be too specific because I want to be as self-sufficient as possible in relationhip to the exam.
