I'm a bit confused. I see people posting passing scores of 140's out of 155 in the results forum -- but I was just looking on Sun's website and they're talking about a passing score being 320 out of 400. When did this happen, or does this mean something else? I haven't seen anybody mentioning scores with numbers like these. (Maybe they're scaled afterwards down to the 155?) Somebody want to fill me in?
When did this change take effect? Also, was it only the scoring structure that changed, or did the actual project/exam/whatever change as well? (Although it's not like the project/exam objectives are explicit now anyways.)
I downloaded my assignment last October, I think it was (then did nothing about it for about six months... ) and it was the old, FBN assignment. Sometime not too long after that the new format exam seems to have replaced FBN, and as far as I can tell consists of a few variations (Contractors, Hotel booking, etc) with the new "out of 400" marking scheme. If you originally downloaded the FBN assignment (marked out of 155) then went back some time later and re-downloaded your assignment, it is possible to get one of the new format exams (or so it seems, from what other people have posted here) and then you have to make your mind up which one to attempt.
Always proofread carefully to see if you any words out.
Hi Nathaniel This topic discusses when you should use "NX" in your topic subject line, and gives a one line description of the assignements. For the most part, the assignments are pretty much the same, the only real differences being the type of business, and therefore the data field to be modified by the client. But the code you write would be almost identical no matter which assignment you got. This thread discusses the marking between the old and new assignments, and compares the changes in emphasis in where marks are deducted. Regards, Andrew
