As a newbie fresh out of the SCJP, I am wondering just what sort of resources a greenhorn needs to pass the exam.
What books would you recommend? What tools/software packages would you recommend I learn how to use?

Assume I can pass the SCJP but that I know nothing else. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Min
Welcome to SCJD and congratulations on passing your SCJP.
I also have the Kathy Sierra & Bert Bates book, and this is the only book that discusses the SCJD that I own. But that is mainly because I have not been able to find Max's book (The Sun Certified Java Developer Exam with J2SE 1.4) here in Sydney.
Take a look at the SCJD Links and FAQ Page. You will find a list of books and links that people have found useful.
If you dont know this yet, you may be pleased to know that there is no time limit on the assignment. So you can purchase the assignment without worrying about whether you know everything necessary to complete the exam.
Regards, Andrew
