Hi All:
Since I had a couple of minutes to spare, I decided to test my assignment on Solaris/x86 (in addition to my development platform -- Win2000). I expected all to pretty much fall in line.
Wrong. JComboBox didn't display too well on Solaris. The SUN website contained a bug report that noted a problem displaying JComboBox's pull down on Solaris, and offered a fix.
My question is: Is there any known summary of the known problems of GUI display on different platforms? Any other known problems other than JComboBox?
Tx

I had a "mising font" error message or something like that when I tested my app on RedHat Linux. Turned out to be a known problem, too.

My MS WindowsXP Professional keeps crashing ( the blue screen of death) when I starts my GUI so I had to restart windows.
not everytime but like 1/5 times and it was annoying because I had to test the program and see how the component look like and where they positioned no the GUI after I compiled the code.
But I played around with the display setting in control panels and somehow the problem was gone, I didn't really know what setting change I made to solve the problem maybe the colour I changed from 16 to 32 or 32 to 16.
Anyway I doesn't really matter anymore because I submitted my assignment end of last month already and then I realised I had to use combobox instead of textfield for searching name and location because it is a MUST for Sun and I dont know why.
I guess I am going suffer serious mark lost.
