I just wanted to say that I've been very impressed and pleased lately with the level of participation here. The questions have been particularly sophisticated, the topics interesting, the answered carefully considered, and the posters have been witty. Really, it's been a pleasure to check in, so thanks.
All best,
M

Yeah, it is really cool. Especially when you check in on some threads and know that others are handling it very well, that you don't need to respond. I have been very busy lately and haven't had as much time to respond to threads, and seeing others answer and help like they have makes me feel good to know that it is ok that I don't have as much time as I would have liked.
Thanks to everyone.

From my point of view, the one of a java newbie crawling in the mud of that SCJD assignement, the fact that we talk to each other to help each other (and oneself) is quite normal.
But seeing all those guys who don't need to read/write in our threads, being well-known java-gurus (Max, Mark), or being SCJD already (Andrew, ...), or seeming to have no need for any clue as far SCJD is concerned (Jim, ...), seeing all those guys so much involved in trying to help us, really put me in some grateful state.
So, thank you to all of you, (and others...)
Cheers,
Phil.

Philippe, you're hardly "crawling in the mud". Perhaps Java itself is new to you, but you've obviously got a fair amount of developing experience and/or careful thought put into your work, and you can hold your head high here. Plus I know how much extra work it is to express complex thoughts in another language; you're doing great.

Dunno about that. I should probably phrase things as questions more often, because while I may sound like I think the solution I describe is the "one true way" to do something , I do benefit greatly from the feedback I've received.
So let me just join in saying "thanks, everyone!"
