Can anybody step out and explain why results of recent giveaway came out at the end of Thursday? even though there were assurance about Friday.
I, for ex., started this area 3 days ago and planned to plce majority of my doubts and "helps" on Friday.
I did not hope for winning a book but such a behaviour is very strange... like a forbidden blow...in box

I tell ya, there's nothing like a nice passive-aggressive topic to make the day worth living. Thank you so much, G!
Based on the winner announcements I scanned, giveaway results are usually tallied Friday in the early a.m. Carl has said over and over there's no way he can see of tilting the odds other than by posting a large number of (significant) messages.
A premature announcement isn't cheating in my book, unless someone stood to gain by it. You say yourself you didn't care if you won; why then would you wait until the last minute to post a bunch of messages? How are these facts related, unless you did in fact hope to win, and probably wondered if a lot of last minute posts would tilt the odds in your favor?
I think it takes a lot of nerve to use words like "cheating" when people like Carl volunteer hours of work for this site just for the love of it. Seems like there's always someone who feels the need to enjoy and criticize the volunteer efforts of others at the same time.

We heard a rumor that you were going to post on Friday and since we hate you we closed the contest early to keep you from winning. I am closing this topic. G, learn some manners or go find another java site to insult.
