I'm just testing my jar files on multiple systems to ensure everything's ok. I've run it on two win xp systems (home and professional) everything's fine on both of those. On a Win Me system I get an IOException accessing the database, but only in server mode. The really weird part is that it works in local mode, but both local mode and the server use the exact same class to get at the database since it's local in both cases. Any ideas?

Hi Mike,
Just shooting in the dark here - did you close your standalone client before starting the server? (That is: could the low level OS be stopping two JVM's from opening the one file simultaneously?)
Regards, Andrew

Does the IOException provide any text explanation at all? (Usually I think they do.)

Hi Mike,
I've run into something similar with Linux. Do a search on my name as Linux, and it might shed some clues. The posts were about a year ago.
